Chipolopolo players have continued to trek to Social media to take responsibility for their part in the shock loss to Niger on Tuesday.
Striker Patson Daka leads the list of players who have taken to Social media to take responsibility and promise to work hard and fight for the nation’s pride.
Daka has described Tuesday’s match as an average performance from the Chipolopolo Boys as a whole.
Daka scored three goals in the two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers Zambia played during the November FIFA window.
Midfielder Klings Kangwa in his Facebook post said the team let the fans down and we’re working to rectify their mistakes on the pitch.
“We let you down in our previous game & we are going to rectify that on the pitch. Let’s put this setback behind us as we focus on the upcoming AFCON..
The World Cup journey is very long & we shall fight to the end. My plea to you all is to continue rallying behind us even in such times.”
Meanwhile goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga expressed disappointment with the result.
“It was a night that wasn’t ours, disappointed with the result but we will take it as an eye opener to improve and make sure we can make the nation proud again which is our responsibility…we will stay together and remain positive.
Thank you for all the amazing support, we’ll be back.”
Emmanuel Banda said the loss was a bitter pill to swallow in his social media post.
Zambia suffered a 2-1 shock loss away against Niger at Marrakech Stadium after their initial win over Congo in Group E.
Amadou Moutari and Boubakar Goumy scored for Niger while Patson Daka managed to get one for Chipolopolo.
