Govt Institutions Urged To Get On E-GP

Secretary to the Cabinet Patrick Kangwa has emphasised that government institutions that will not have Electronic Government Procurement -E-GPS- by end of this year will not be allowed to hold procurement meetings next year.

Mr. Kangwa says the government institutions must put in place E-GPS by December 31.

He says E- GPS provides a centralised platform for managing public procurement, promotes fair competition, reduces the risk of corruption in the procurement process and ensures better value for public funds.

Mr. Kangwa was speaking during the integrity committee Chief Executive Officers forum in Lusaka on Wednesday.

And Mr. Kangwa has urged controlling officers in various Ministries to increase funding to integrity Committees.
