Kalumba Slavin: Judges Are Not Under Internal Or External Influence

The Judiciary has dismissed allegations and reports that High Court Judges are under external influence.

Judiciary Deputy Director Corporate Communication Kalumba Slavin says article 122 and 123 of the constitution provides for the functional and financial independence of the judiciary.

Mrs. Slavin says the allegiance of a Judge is to the constitution and the law, free from internal or external influence or control.

She has reminded media houses of their ethical duty to report truthfully and responsibly.

Mrs. Slavin told in a statement that misleading the public not only damages the reputation of the judiciary but also jeopardizes the principles upon which a fair and impartial legal system is built.
