Kawana Urges Youth To Contribute To National Development

Information and Media Permanent Secretary, Thabo Kawana says youth led organisations have the potential to contribute to Zambia’s growth and sustainable development.

Mr Kawana says youth organisations could be catalysts of positive change in society if properly nurtured and contribute towards transforming the country.

The Permanet Secretary said this in a speech read for him by the Ministry of Information and Media, Assistant Director, Public and Media Relations Susan Ndumingu at the Youth-led Development Alliance (YDA) gala.

Mr Kawana urged youths to work towards achieving their dreams and visions with practical steps.

He praised the youth alliance for coming together as youth organizations to unite for a common agenda.

Mr Kawana described as a positive development the emergence of youth-led organisations in the country, trying to make a difference in communities and the nation at large.

And Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts Permanent Secretary, Kangwa Chileshe encouraged youths to take advantage of the Government’s resolve to help the cause of the youths.

In a speech read for him by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts, Assistant Director for Youth, Mable Nedziwe, Mr Chileshe said one of the main responsibilities of the Ministry is to empower the youth.
